About Us

It all started when Wilbur Allen Thrush founded Thrush Sprouting in Phillipsburg, Ohio. With pride strapped to this tool belt, and the attitude that every job will be done with perfection and swiftness and quote, “Every customer will be satisfied!” Wilbur set out on a mission to install spouting and roof homes for everyone. He did just that.

Back in those days Wilbur installed spouting on homes through the week alone, and on the weekend with the help of his brothers and friends. Wilbur had a great reputation for a job well done and the phone began to ring. In 1962 Wilbur hired his first employee. In 1964 Wilbur Allen Thrush Jr. came into the world. At the age of three, Wilbur began to take Allen with him everywhere he went, even to work. He had a lot of patience.

In 1968 the family moved to the Brookeville area, and in 1969 the company was renamed Thrush & Son®.

Born in Greenville, Ohio. Allen grew up in and around the construction industry first beginning when he was three years old. In 1982 Allen graduated from Brookville High School and married his wife, Michelle in 1985. In 1989 Allen purchased the company from his father. From the time of the initial purchase Allen has seen the elevation of the home improvement industry and under his guidance has grown Thrush & Son from a single truck, to a nationally recognized home improvement company with five locations.

Born in Dayton, Ohio to an automotive family. Her father, Ken, was a highly successful dealership owner. Michelle graduated from Brookville High School in 1984 and has been married to Allen since 1985. Michelle began working in the front office in 1991 and has since continued to help oversee the office staff and act as a motherly figure for the office staff.

Born in November of 1985, Corey is the only child of Michelle and Allen. Corey graduated from Brookville High School in 2004. Afterwards Corey briefly attended Vincennes University before transferring to Gardner-Webb University and lettering for the Runnin’ Bulldogs baseball team. Corey graduated in 2008 with a degree in management from the Godbold School of Business and had a brief run of playing professional baseball. Corey formerly hosted the Thrush & Son WING Racing Show on 1410 ESPN Radio in Dayton.
