As a woman homeowner, the idea of signing a contract with a home improvement company is daunting. Many questions race through a woman’s mind. Are they trustworthy? Are the using quality products that will protect my investment? After they are finished with the renovation project, are they going to ensure and stand by their work if I have a problem or concern? Or disappear into the night, so to speak, leaving me to fend for myself? Unfortunately, some home improvement companies prey on a woman being unfamiliar with all the details involved in a home improvement project.
There are many factors to take into consideration when choosing a Home Improvement company.
- Trust
- Honesty
- Reliability
- Knowledge of work and Products
- Quality of work and products
- Customer service and care
- Reputation
As a woman, or any gender for that matter, when looking for information first thing we do is ask. We ask our friends, our family, our neighbors, even our co-workers. Reputation is everything. We want to know who someone we trust recommends and how they were treated as a customer. A lot of times this alone determines whether or not we look into a potential company further.
Once the reputation of honesty and trust of the company has been established by the recommendation of someone we trust then we look into the quality and reliability of the work they do and the products they carry. What sets them apart from other companies? Is it their honesty, their products, their workmanship? In my opinion, it should be all of the above.
A woman looks for a home improvement company that embodies trust, honesty, and reliability throughout the renovation process. From the call center in the office to the contractors on the field, the customers of a home improvement company must be shown honesty and respect. The sales representative is expected to impart a wealth of knowledge and information to the homeowner regarding their home improvement project and the products needed to complete it. The sales representatives must take time to answer any questions that their customer may have. This allows the homeowner to make the decision that best suits both their needs and desires for their project. The knowledge imparted to the homeowner paired with the quality of the products used leaves the customer with a finished project to enjoy for years to come. The reputation of a home improvement company’s customer service and care has to be established in every aspect of the company, setting the industry standard for home improvements done right.
